the game uses a mechanic similar to castlevania, where the player picks from four different characters with their own unique special moveset, but with the advantage that players can switch between each character at any time. each move, stance, and attack has a unique "judge" move that must be earned through battle in order to use it, similar to earlier soul calibur games.
