Plot
The film begins with the death of Anandan, a popular actor and politician, in 1987. The film then flashes back to the 1950s, when Anandan meets Tamil Selvam, a young writer and activist. Tamil Selvam is impressed by Anandan's acting skills and offers him a role in his play. Anandan accepts and becomes a successful stage actor.
Anandan is introduced to the world of cinema by Ramani (Gautami), a film producer and actress. He falls in love with her and marries her. He also becomes a star in the film industry, thanks to the guidance of Tamil Selvam, who writes scripts for him. Tamil Selvam, meanwhile, joins a political party led by Anna Durai (Nassar), who opposes the ruling Congress party.
Anandan and Tamil Selvam become close friends and support each other in their respective fields. However, their friendship is tested when Tamil Selvam marries Selvi (Revathi), the daughter of Anna Durai. Anandan feels betrayed by Tamil Selvam, who did not inform him about his marriage.
