Initially, the oversea versions were scheduled for February 14, 2017. In the beginning of the official live stream of the English version demo on November 16, 2016, Atlus announced that because they wanted to set a new height of localization standard, the release date was pushed back to April 4, 2017. Atlus USA explained that extra time was required for revision of the script as well as recording some voices again. The fact that Atlus Japan only handed over the complete script for Atlus USA to begin localization also contributed to the delay. In compensation for the delay, the game had been reprogrammed to support dual audio option and the Japanese voice set is available as free downloadable content permanently.
The game allows for greater flexibility in gunplay, allowing players to customize the sights and ammunition type of their weaponry. A new weapon, the Battle Rifle, has also been introduced to serve the role of a designated marksman rifle. Players are free to swap out weapon modification and change targeting patterns during combat. Ammunition includes armor piercing rounds and EMP ammo for taking out electronics.
Breach is a game mode included in Mankind Divided, and was also released as a free standalone title (Deus Ex: Breach) on January 24, 2017. Breach is set in the virtual world of the Neural SubNet, which is depicted in a surreal, polygonal graphic style. However, the weapons and augmentations in Breach are generally analogous to those of the main game. Breach includes a plot-driven campaign in which player takes the role of a ripper working with the hacker ShadowChild to extract corporate data from the Palisade Blades. While actual gameplay is single-player, Breach permits players to send challenges to others, and the game's background environment reflects the activities of other players. Breach also serves as a challenge-mode, with leaderboards allowing players to compare scores and positions online.
VR Experience was released on January 24, 2017, as a free virtual reality technology demo available on Windows systems. It permits players to explore several environments featured in the main game.

For the "Batgirl: A Matter of Family" story pack, Stapleton offered a mixed reaction, giving the DLC a 6.3 out of 10, praising the unique design and atmosphere of the theme park setting, and also commenting positively on the story, the variation in combat, Batgirl's character design, and Mark Hamill's performance as the Joker. A prominent concern, however, was the short length of the campaign and lack of replay value aside from the rather simple collectables found around the map. He added, "worse, there's no new AR challenge map where you can play as Batgirl, which means her great-looking character model is trapped in this single piece of story content. Considering Arkham Knight is fairly stingy in the challenge map department, that's another big missed opportunity."[172] Reiner felt the pack would only be of value to players who enjoy the Arkham story, stating, "Developer WB Montreal can be commended for creating a wonderfully realized version of Batgirl, who is resourceful and capable of striking fear into Joker's henchmen, but the mission she embarks on lacks creativity and ranks among the Arkham series' worst." He did, however, praise the side story involving Edward Burke, the person who built the amusement park where the story takes place, calling it "twisted and dark" and shedding "new light on one of the series' mainstays."[173]
